oui, clairement c’est ancré. Dixit mon oncle, boomer biberonné au “tout voiture” : “la voiture ça fait de l’emploi et de la consommation récurrente (carburant, péages, parking, assurance, entretien…) alors que le vélo ça n’apporte rien à l’économie, ils consomment pas.”

Je lui ai rappelé que le coût non visible de la voiture est plus important que les bénéfices immédiats : maladies respiratoires, maladies liées à la sédentarité, coût des infrastructures (2 à 5m€/km pour une départementale neuve, 200k€/km la réfection), alors qu’en vélo ça coûte 200k€/km pour une piste séparée neuve et ça apporte des bénéfices en santé publique.

Sans compter le temps perdu dans les bouchons, la place perdue par les routes et les parkings immenses vides les 3/4 du temps, la destruction des écosystèmes et des ressources lors de l’extraction du pétrole (coucou le gaz/pétrole de schiste, les sables bitumineux), mais tout ça est considéré comme “normal” donc on ne le remet jamais en cause.

Donc tant que “l’économie” sera la seule référence, sans tenir compte des externalités, on verra que le bénéfice apporté par la voiture.
