if by economic crisis you mean a bunch of capitalist leeches will be out a lot of future profit and will whine and make a big fuss about it, yeah there will be an economic crisis. for normal people we’ll finally be able to afford a place to live and to spend money on more than just existing. since normal people are what really drive the economy i suspect it will lead to an economic boom more than anything. but what do i know im not rich and i dont have any interest in residential real estate.

To be fair, having housing be cheaper isn’t going to alleviate supply issues in locations with high demand and demand issues where there is low demand.

The housing crisis in the US is a varied issue. A big contributor is lack of transportation etc.

When I was in the US there were spool many people employed in the service industry everywhere. A friend claimed that a couple American baristas could be replaced by a single Italian. I don’t think that’s a huge issue - you are allowed to be different. But I guess it might in part explain how there is a lack workers and worker housing.
