I know. I started using the format with periods back in the 90s, before I knew of the standard, and at this point doing it with periods is muscle memory. That’s not meant as an excuse, just an explanation. The excuse is laziness.

If you take the mysticism out of Christ’s story (angels, miracles, resurrection, etc), then it becomes a solid story of a man who truly loved others and wanted to help others. Christ wasn’t going around scaring people with fire and brimstone. Instead, Christ went around preaching and practicing love towards others (as long as they weren’t using god as a way to enrich or empower/themselves).

If you want to be a good Christian, focus on and practice the actual teachings of Christ. Not the old testament. Not the mysticism. The actual actions and teachings of the man.
