I haven’t fixed it yet, just wanted to confirm that plain GIFs work as expected. What you saw was probably gifv. In any case, working on it now, will be fixed in the next hour.

Yes! Also the December release of Catodon will support both Bookwyrm and NeoDB reviews. I know that people are looking for a suggestion for now, but we need a month (although it will come sooner in develop, in November).

I’m just saying, if you see two reactions where there should be one, let me know so I can look at it. @artyom@piefed.social @Lojcs@piefed.social that’s probably because piefed doesn’t support custom emoji (or at least custom emoji that are compatible with misskey and akkoma, like we do).

@artyom@piefed.social the first thing that came to my mind for the inconsistency is that other platforms give an upvote automatically to new topics, from the author, but in catodon we don’t do that, each topic starts with no score and self upvotes are not allowed.

But if piefed genuinely shows the same reaction from you twice, it might be worth looking into. If you provide more info I can take a look, thanks!

Yeah, I’d love to do subdomains but it gets complicated (there might already be other subdomains used for things outside catodon, or might be needed in the future etc). I think I’m leaning to something like domain.com/b/blogname, it seems to be the shortest safe path, that can be dedicated to this without implications. I’ll also look into how to make bring-your-own-domain a smooth experience.

In many ways - several features are gone, several have been added. Some of the main ones, I guess, are federated forums (compatible with Lemmy/Piefed), federated blogs, an RSS feed, following hashtags, and customizable timelines. We’re also trying to make it easier for new users, with familiar terminology etc.

Good catch - menus do open upwards when the button is low on the screen, but previews don’t (also happens for urls). Will fix later today.

No, of course not, migrating from Sharkey shouldn’t be hard, and it’s documented here. We have actually kept the migrating back to Sharkey path, if anyone migrates and then changes their mind, until the end of the year - meaning we don’t delete sharkey-only data from the db. After 27.1.0, migrating back to Sharkey will still be possible, just lossy.

Added descriptions under these two options in current develop, because they were indeed not easy to understand. Will deploy it now.

Watch post notifies you only for direct replies to the specific post. Watch thread notifies you for all replies in that thread, and that’s why it’s only an option in top-level posts.
