The first 2-3 books maybe, but Joanne really tried to push for a more mature tone, with none of the writing skills to back it up. Slavery, creatures that devour your soul, date rape, torture to the point of insanity, political corruption, the rise of fascism, grief, child soldiers, analogies about aid-riddled homosexuals targeting children. None of these are topics for a children’s book, let alone one written by a bigoted idiot.

I only made it as far as the first few chapters of book 4. I saw the repeating pattern and realised it wasn’t for me.
