But the Disney movie does have the best illustrations for Zeus facts.

Disney movies are obviously the best source of accurate portrayals of historical events/myths.

For example: Hamlet was a lion named Simba.

Why swedish? Wasn’t Hamlet set in Denmark? Written by some English bloke so original is in English anyway.

In all earnestness is frighteningly common for people who don’t have the first clue what they’re talking about.

Besides it being easier to list the sons Zeus didn’t produce, it would be easier to list the animals Zeus didn’t take the form of two seduce women.

Thinking about that, women in ancient Greece must have been very easy to seduce.

Male gods raping mortal woman was canon.

As in, nearly every Greek myth with a male god and a mortal woman featured rape. They weren’t coy about it.

Rape or attempted rape. There was the whole Io(?) situation where Zeus was thwarted by Io running away and Hera being done with his shit.

Even if we ignore the fact that Zeus was a serial cheater and r*per, isn’t Ares he and Hera’s son?

What’s funny is only half remembering the stories of the movie and the myth. I remember asking my wife about the movie, “didn’t they give him a potion to make him immortal? Because he was a demigod?” But in the movie Pain and Panic give him a potion to make him mortal.

Tbh selling a Disney movie with a mythology-accurate Zeus would be pretty difficult (Zeus was a serial rapist).

I speak here as a man - you obviously have not met many people outside of your field of specialization; else you’d realize that there innumerable people who are genuinely dumb as fucking rocks with regards to your field, and convinced that they’re right and you’re wrong.
