The Pentagon has summoned military officials from around the world for a gathering in Virginia. Even top generals and their staffs don’t know the reason for the meeting.

10 bucks says Hegseth meant to meet with a couple generals, but because he was drunk he accidentally sent the orders to every general and admiral in the military.

More like the way Hitler had all the generals summoned in 1935 to take an oath to him personally instead of to the Weimar Republic.

There is no way this is a good thing. Summoning a single general to a meeting without giving any context is not a thing that is done. Summoning all of them and not stating the meeting purpose or providing read ahead charts or pre-briefs… that’s incredibly ominous.

I’m hoping it is only him directing them to call it Dept of War (DoW) on all official comms instead of DoD.

      Its also ridiculously irresponsible.

There is a lot of discussion to be had over the actual value of a general in modern warfare (where individual soldiers have tactical value and so much decision making happens at the company or even squad level). But no discussion is required to say what a ridiculously juicy target “every high ranking military official” is and the massive damage to morale and organization that would ensue.

            I’m skeptical of that.

This will be hundreds of “military men”. Yes, the vast majority are pencil pushers who are in worse shape than the average divorced dad “trying to get back out there”. Even if they are bringing every single chud they can find, they are still going to be the “weaker” group. And chuds hate feeling weak.

If it were just the inevitable loyalty oaths, I would expect that to happen in more isolated groups. And while it is always possible that they could batch the generals into the room to kiss the skidmarked ring, that still feels like a risk when they might not get the photo op they want at the end.

My money is on “planning how to secede from the United Nations”. Aka “planning to go to war with basically all of NATO and a bunch of Global South countries who want revenge”. Whether that goes anywhere is a different discussion, but “all of our generals made some great plans” is a talking point they would want.

I remember hearing a story about some country’s leader started gathering their legislators and then claimed he had uncovered a list of names conspiring against him, then announced the names one by one, got the soldiers to lead them to a hallway, and executed them, then the remainder of them pledge loyalty to the leader.

Something like that, forgot what country it was. But this sounds so familiar. Uncanny parallel.

They are preparing the Military on the fight on Antifa

I suspect they are informing the generals they are about to begin an invasion of (take your pick) country.

No. This is something else. If it was an invasion plan there would be the usual high level meetings at the Pentagon and Whitehouse. Then orders would be issued via the usual secured communication.

The only reason to bring all of them in is a for a political purity test and or mass firing.

I mean, theoretically, shouldn’t a literal room full of top Generals be able to organize and have all their bosses placed under Military Arrest for issuing corrupt orders? Our soldiers are not supposed to obey corrupt orders.

We’re going to war with somebody.

And all the times I’ve heard MAGA tell me Biden and the Dems were warmongers.

But, I could be wrong. I always admit that.

It’s polulist tactics 101: blame all your wrongdoings on your enemy/opposition. All they can reply with is “no you!” Wow, strong defense, as if anyone is going to believe that.

They renamed the Department of Defense to Department of War. So yeah, you’re probably wrong. It’s probably just a military high tea with a karaoke contest or something.

They need to christen their newly renamed Department of War with a war of some sort. Otherwise why go through all that trouble of renaming it. That would just look stupid.
