If the black screen is after the boot loader then it sounds like video driver issue. Try nomodeset kernel parameter or a different distribution.
If the black screen is before the boot loader you’re either not booting the installation media correctly or your installation media might be corrupted. Try redownloading the iso and reinstalling it in the installation media.

Honestly, apps (web included) in 2025 are just profit farming. It will be hard to get anything substantial from the experience.
Best suggestion is avoid OLD and just meet people in person. Get a hobby and attend things and eventually you will find like minded people.
Things like rock climbing, board games, cycling, etc. Hobbies that have places you go to and do a thing.

Not sure. I rarely use it as is. I haven’t done anything in depth. I have only pulled it up on rare occasions I need specific versions.
Like 98% of my library is just install and play with default steam hotfix version.
I don’t like the interface tbh. I much rather use ProtonUp-QT for this purpose.
At least in my experience proton plus is restricted in what you can and can’t do.

Today is my 2 year anniversary and I hate it. I’m a lifetime smoker through and through.

Bazzite is actually not even Fedora directly but instead it’s part of the UBlue distribution that uses Fedora immutable as its base.
I guess think how Linux Mint uses Ubuntu base but Ubuntu uses Debian as its base.
It is a variant of a variant basically. Also immutable distributions work differently than normal ones due to their nature. The system files never get modified and everything is installed in sort of containers. That’s overly simplifying it.
Anyway, end of the day I’m still using Bazzite on my handheld Legion Go but on my desktop it doesn’t fly and instead I’m using Fedora proper.

Bazzite for example runs poorly on my hardware. Video playback in browsers is super laggy/choppy/stuttery. I use the same browser in Fedora proper and it’s smooth.
As for Cachy, I know it’s meant for gaming but my games ran significantly worse than in both Bazzite and Fedora proper.
For my hardware setup, Fedora proper is the best balance between usability and gaming performance.
It is a modified version of their immutable variant and it runs poorly on my hardware. 🤷♂️
