The top image was broadcast as a JOKE on French TV in 2014. The lower image is a REAL weather report from June this year.
The worst part is when the top image was broadcast, people said that it was unrealistic and it would never get that hot, and now here we are, 24 years before the predicted time we’re already surpassing all the predictions (I say prediction very loosely because I don’t think there were any studies done)

We’re surpassing the conservative predictions. Even the ‘bad’ predictions in things like the IPCC reports are relatively conservative and don’t take into account feedback loops.
I live in France and I do remember watching this image being broadcast, and yes it felt completely unrealistic at the time, nothing seemed to point in this direction, but yet here we are.
Last time I checked, if you assume 3.5C global warming, the numbers are likely to reach 50C by 2050.

If you zoom in enough to see where your city is in America, it’s just nondescript landmass. No coastlines to clue you in.
Lakes, elevation is usually shown on maps, county/state borders depending on map scale.

Aside from the coasts, there aren’t a lot of features on that map. Like if you did a square crop, removing the coasts and borders, it would not be immediately apparent.
