There was a documentary or mockumentary detailing some of his supposed exploits at KGB, with some photos of him supposedly in more supposedly effeminate clothing or stances.
There was a lot of supposition that he began rising through the ranks as the supposed boy toy of the previous head of what was supposed to be KGB, who was supposedly into young men.
After that guy’s retirement and supposed assassination, our guy had a total makeover into the supposed manly man of later years and everyone else started walking with clenched cheeks around him.

Of course, this mockumentary was made by the US, so it is likely to be the brainchild of an intelligence agent who supposedly really wanted to call our guy out as being gay before their subsequent retirement and supposed assassination.
