The paper has long been the primary medium of scientific discourse. But it seems unlikely that it represents the final format for scholarly publishing and discussion. This post explores the formats that might emerge to replace the traditional academic article, including community notes, interactive and multi-media figures, and adversarial collaborations.

I need online forums that require credentials to enter. Like I want to argue with other PhDs in my subfield instantly and publicly. Is that too much too ask?

Now I’m curious what field someone named “sharkfucker420” would have a PhD in.

      Computer science?

And I’d guess your subfield intersects with something more human focused like psychology or maybe more on the side of biomechanics

      How far off am I?

Unfortunately my sub field could make me identifiable so I will leave it at history. You were correct on the humanities front.

As a joke I wad tempted to say marine biology lol

The fun part about PhDs is that some of them are hella specific so we can come up with a really long name for a fake area of study and it still is somewhat believable.

It’s just difficult to combine all the parts of your username. The best I can think of rn is to say you got your degree in Costal Human Ecology by researching pharmacokinetics in relation to reproductive biology.
