What about creating an user account only for games and not in the sudoers file? Would that be a reasonable way to protect your main user account?

I can’t speak for the whole country, but at least in my city, it’s notable how bolsonarism has been losing energy. I know people who were strong supporters who are not caring for him anymore and less and less people are talking about him in public places. I believe today’s news will deliver another strong blow against this collective madness, and the slow improvement in the economy since last elections will bring more people back to supporting the left parties, at least the worker’s party.

Imo, those devices tend to be too “extremist” on the distraction-free side. Something with a comfortable keyboard, a smaller screen (e-ink would really be nice) and an available browser for doing some online research is nice. Just removing notifications and access to social media is enough to eliminate most distractions. That one from the post looks interesting if the browser is reasonably responsive.

About the machine, it’s a very comfortable one to do writing work, and still works fine, so why not use it? Also, I’m from a “global south” country, and I can’t afford to replace stuff when I still have something in working conditions. Dumpsters around here don’t contain working electronic devices, by the way.

It’s a 64-bit cpu. From personal experience, using 32 bit firefox, I can run a bit more tabs. It’s enough for my use case, which is editing text documents and doing a bit of online research while in bed. I use it as an auxiliary device and sync my files using syncthing.

It’s a bay trail series, it’s 64-bit. I’m running mx linux and only installed the 32-bit firefox using multiarch, because the difference is pretty noticeable

I have a theory that part of this game’s enormous success is due to it being to run on most computers without special requirements. People are tired of needing a more and more expensive gpu to play stuff that isn’t that great, and seeing your hardware become obsolete at record rates. Also, the game costing a lower price than average, for the same reasons.

Maybe they tried, but faced cultural resistance. Instead, they target other things to men, like wallets and watches.
