No worries mate, don’t be so harsh on yourself. Europe is multilingual and English is the standard language. But the reason we speak multiple languages is because we learn them in school, not because we are so open-minded. If you like to pick up a language I would recommend Spanish, it will be the most useful for you on the American continent. German and Polish are hard to learn and not worth it if you don’t plan on moving here.
US Americans being aware of other languages and cultures existing is basically all we want, so just keep visiting our meme community from time to time and enjoy the German humour ;)
Eternity has not gotten any update for almost 2 years now, it is dead. I wouldn’t trust the app, but consider it an security risk. I feel very sorry as I have been a huge Infinity fan in the good old times, but I’d recommend you to switch. Voyager is a fine replacement for Eternity.
I haven’t watched advertisements for a long time, but I am pretty sure ads for alcohol are completely normal in Germany. Which is of course wrong, it’s just that we really like lobbyism here.

Das Problem sind ja nicht die Bestandsmieten, sondern die Neumieten. Ich freue mich für alle mit 20 Jahre alten Mietverträgen und niedriger Miete. Aber diese Leute werden niemals aus ihrer Wohnung ausziehen, deshalb sind es vor allem die astronomischen Neumieten, die Probleme machen.
I do genealogy, meaning looking through church books and population lists to make biographies of my ancestors in the 18th century or so. That hobby takes up a lot of time.
I also like to go for walks, ID plants and stuff. Sometimes my girlfriend and me just go collecting trash in the nature around us.
I try to read a lot, mostly classical literature or political stuff.
I try to go to the gym two times a week and I am always up for a round of Frisbee in the park or a beer in the pub.
Occasionally I play video games, but more mini games and puzzles as serious gaming draws too much time.
So the perfect day involves a little research, a bit of sports, a big round outside and finishes with a visit to the theater or cinema!
