It’s just my wild hunch but I think Seinfeld has been mostly a big phony nearly all his life. He clearly has always been a big supporter of Israel. He wasn’t shy to post photos/vids of himself and his family around Jewish military people holding guns. I haven’t paid attention to him at all so maybe I’m all wrong about the timing. But as far as I know - before October 7th - he never directly and unequivocally whined about stuff like wokeism, extreme leftists or PC.
Every form of religion has its cranks. But I’m Jewish and I think there’s a virulent form of Judaism that’s a bit unusual for the US because the person may not really be that religious. The extremist right-wing Jewish person appears normal but has a cult-like bunker mentality. They can suddenly go mask off and it’s clear that anybody with opinion different from them about Israel is an dangerous enemy and perhaps wants to physically harm Jews.
David Mamet became that way. I don’t know when it started. After 9/11 is my hunch. In any case - a few weeks after October 7th Mamet was ranting like a total nutbar about liberalism and “antisemitic” colleges. Maybe Seinfeld is similar.
The dipshit anchor starts talking to Mamet at ~0:46. After about a minute it’s finally Mamet’s turn to talk. At 1:52 it has taken him seconds to unironically jump to the destruction of the second temple.
Seinfeld is worth about a billion dollars. It doesn’t matter if his Pop Tarts movie is successful or not. Yet it’s weird for him to start right-wing ranting when his movie is about to come out. The movie is released next week. It’s as if he’s put himself in a win-win-win situation. If right-wingers increase box office - he’ll be happy. If the box office is as expected - he’ll be happy. Perhaps the worst box office is best of all. If does badly or flops - he can scream wokeism and antisemitism are responsible.
