What I’m hearing is that people are either going to become more literate or use insults at their reading level.
male chauvinist pig. the keyboard on my phone doesnt even do autocomplete it just shows me the closest words to what ive been typing since the last white space, which i prefer waaaay more than an autocomplete. its as dumb as it can be so its behavior is predictable and repeatable and theres no fascist censorship fuckery going on. it even volunteers variations of fuck when i type it. in order: fuck, fucks, fucked, fuckup, fucker, tuck (lol), fuckoff, feck, buck, yuck, fuckups, etc.
Others like Swiftkey do it too. I’m considering moving to an alternative (privacy isn’t a concern on GOs)

Currently you have to load a proprietary google blob to use swipe, but they’re working on a swipe library funded by NLnet, that should release very soon.
Yes it does, but it needs to be enabled, and you need to load an external gesture typing library. As of now, Google’s is unfortunately the most robust.
Go into Heliboard’s settings, in the Advanced menu, at the very very bottom, there is a “Load gesture typing” option.
After you load a library, the gesture typing menus become visible, and you can customize it as much as you need.
Also, they recently started an opt-in gesture typing collection, to make an open source gesture typing library, which will eliminate the need for Google’s library, so if you like swiping, you can help by participating!

I’ve had SwiftKey for so long but Microsoft hasn’t done anything to make it better and keeps adding bloat to make it worse. I didn’t know they had a word greylist. I’ve had Florisboard installed but it’s still in beta with no spellchecker. I’ll have to try Heliboard again.
I landed on Futo in the meantime, FOSS on FDroid with no internet needed. Seems to work fine for me.
