Those poor, unfortunate soles.
Oh man, the rare triple entendre
I hadn’t even thought of the sole fish, but here we are, and I have you to thank for pointing it out!
How is she speaking?
Through her lower lips

Maybe more…
Imagine
Thanks for reminding me of this
Also bonus animation of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrXT3OIMQfE
Og full version (though I don’t remember the audio being that glitchy)
Advanced sphincter control techniques.
Exactly! Ursula took her voice as payment! How could she talk?!
The same way she’s breathing, duh
Ursula has a very low opinion of men; 100% she expects this to still work.
I mean…
Not shown: she perseveres and ends up becoming a celebrated breakdancer

Let’s say: A known breakdancer.
I signed onto a sailing ship
My very first day at sea
I seen the Mermaid in the waves
Reaching out to me
“Come live with me in the sea,” said she
"Down on the ocean floor
And I’ll show you a million wondrous things
You’ve never seen before"
So over I jumped and she pulled me down
Down to her seaweed bed
On a pillow made of a tortoise-shell
She placed beneath my head
She fed me shrimp and caviar
Upon a silver dish
From her head to her waist it was just my taste
But the rest of her was a fish
'Cause her hair was green as seaweed
Her skin was blue and pale
Her face it was a work of art
I loved that girl with all my heart
I only liked the upper part
I did not like the tail
But then one day, she swam away
So I sang to the clams and the whales
"Oh, how I miss her seaweed hair
And the silver shine of her scales"
But then her sister, she swam by
And set my heart a-whirl
Cause her upper part was an ugly fish
But her bottom part was a girl
Yes her hair was green as seaweed
Her skin was blue and pale
Her legs they are a work of art
I loved that girl with all my heart
And I don’t give a damn about the upper part
'cause that’s how I get my tail
I was absolutely certain I was going to have a one-of-a-kind comment that was perfect for the post, but it turns out you already posted it!
What can I say? It’s a catchy tune!
Technically she she should have been more specific. I just don’t get why she lost her head too, instead of just the arms?
I guess it must have been an evil Genie. 😋It’s a common trope to depict making a wish but causing unintended and dark consequences. It’s allegory to be careful what you wish for. I suppose you could call this “anti-wish”.
