  • Country of sycophants.

    Edit:
To those that downvote, this is not just the officer, it is also his colleagues that URGED the ambulance to take the officer instead. And finally the ambulance people should CLEARLY have deemed it more important to take the gunshot victim, which the ambulance was called for! This makes it a bad decission not by 1 person, but by at least 5 people who agreed on this insane unprofessional decision all around.

But this anecdote is of course not the reason for my comment, it is everything about American society, American society is based on psychopathy, which is the reason Trump was able to win twice. How could Trump win the election twice unless people were fine with his obvious malignant narcissism.
And if you say it isn’t obvious, it’s because you suffer the same problem. Because IT IS FUCKING OBVIOUS to any normal person.

  • IDK if it was Bosch, if so they were obvioiusly complicit.
But more than 17 brands did it, IDK if you saw my edit that includes a wiki page on the issue. Otherwise I think you should have a look.

part of the restitution was to build EV

Yes this is true, it was an agreement with the German government. Which has led to VW being the absolute leader in sales of BEV cars in EU today. Which also makes it insane when people complain that VW didn’t start soon enough, when they were way ahead of the competition already 5 years ago.

Today there are other good options from all over the world, Obviously BMW and Mercedes, but also Renault, Hyundai, Volvo (Geely), Ford. Even Stelantis has models that aren’t absolute crap now (here in Europe). And Toyota came with their first BEV last year, and that is AFAIK also pretty decent. But not VW group level IMO. From VW group we also have Skoda, Audi, Cupra and Porsche.

With the VW native brand being the most popular BEV brand here in Denmark.

  • It’s funny with the hate against VW for not transitioning fast enough, I’ve seen so many times here on lemmy.
When the worlds biggest manufacturer Toyota is about 5 years behind VW.

All the Japanese manufacturers have really dropped the ball on EV. AFAIK Honda only has a single BEV model available in EU, and the range isn’t very good.
While VW group has more than 10 models. Even Stelantis is doing better in this segment than any Japanese manufacturer.

What didn’t increase its cost during the crisis? Renewables.

Absolutely, but you shouldn’t replace nuclear with coal, you should build the renewable infrastructure FIRST, and not help create a completely unnecessary shortage that has to be filled in a panic. Closing the nuclear plants was replaced with coal not renewables, except slowly as that capacity is being built.

It was also a double standard, as import of French electricity from nuclear power was still imported.
It was such a shit show, although I agree we should definitely invest in renewables going forward.
