Also had a gun fight at their headquarters around the time they were forced into this by Putin. The assailant on the headquarters was explained as a domestic dispute.

They use them to evade sanctions. All the military gear is labeled “This is a toy not for combat use”
Knowing the Russian military, that’s probably accurate. They’re much cheaper!
Russia doesn’t supply their soldiers with anything but guns, bullets and old badly fitting uniforms. No armor, no medical supplies, nothing. They have to buy everything themselves if they want to improve their chances. Obviously marketplaces like Wildverries exploit took advantage of that.
