Heyo !
I’m looking to buy a recorder with integrated microphones to record live concerts by simply putting it in the room of the concert
I usually borrow zoom or Tascam for this but it would be great to have my own, so I’m looking for a portable recorder that would handle this well
Usually I plug them in usb on my computer because I need to stream it live, so it needs to be recognized as an audio device
and… Well, having an audio interface is great so it would be really nice to have XLR inputs as well
And optional but great: if it’s possible to remotely configure the audio input level through the computer it would be great :D

highly recommend the tascam DR-40x
works as an interface and has two XLR input as well as e excellent built in microphones
and manual recording level control so it doesn’t abruptly cut the level if the show gets loud
only thing I don’t love is how it runs on AA batteries-- still, has decent battery life and I’ve been meaning to get rechargeable AAs for it
Tascam is reliable and will be what you need. From experience zoom isn’t that great as interface.
