Well, Parts 1 and 2 already deviated from the first book so it should be expected that this one will also not be totally faithful.

I do agree that it will be a magnificent experience.

How can it be a true adaptation of Dune if it doesn’t have a scene that is just a brief conversation between two people, except you get a lengthy internal monologue from one of the characters, and then it switches PoV and you get an equally lengthy monologue from the other?

well, yes there has to be an adaptation… the question is whether you break canon (like having Batman shooting guns) or not (like making Batman’s suit dark gray instead of black)

I honestly do not want a line for line take from the book… I already read the book, I know what will happen, I want to still have a bit of a surprise.

Same with concerts, Tool concerts are 100% faithful to the recordings but that is not much fun for me because I can always listen to the album… On the other hand, The Cat Empire changes every song twice in life performances… it’s too much change, I cannot even follow the songs.

        Balance is key

Look at LotR reactions (which have mellowed some, but there are still diehards that have their issues). And I would say Dune fans are more rigid. It’s not a problem, the movie will do well, it’s just hard to do adaptations, and people are set in their own interpretations of works tha have been around a long time.
