So good to see the old memes.
So bad that they’re useful.
There will be times when the struggle seems impossible. Alone, unsure, dwarfed by the scale of the enemy. Freedom is a pure idea. It occurs spontaneously and without instruction. Random acts of insurrection are occurring constantly. There are whole armies, battalions that have no idea that they’ve already enlisted in the cause. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear.
So good to see the old memes.
So bad that they’re useful.

I always loved this episode as a kid because of the “don’t need gods anymore”. Took the internet to realize the darker side. Yeah, I got that she stumbled back a bit roughed up, but as a kid I didn’t get the inference.

Low hanging fruit. Cut the billions being spent to kill people. And just ending there, it’s hard to say which situation I’m talking about, isn’t it? So much of “ordinary people’s money” being spent in the wrong ways, all for the benefit of a few, or one.

“Make what I’ve done and am doing not a crime. One reason why I wanted to become King President.”

Death ray from space?
That is correct, but in the end Frankenstein is the real monster.
Does it stay on, or is it blinking?
I can see why The Scream jumped out as unique with its surreal image, but in his 205 works he’s got a few that are decent paintings. Just not as eye catching. And I’m no expert, so maybe someone with knowledge of use of color or flow or whatever could say what level he was.
Would have been perfect if the last panel didn’t have the original web results anymore.

It’s certainly not a direct comparison, but both changed things. And blew things up in the process.
Or tell her she has a mix, and let her decide what she wants to be. I’ve seen plenty of people who look one way but claim roots and heritage from something I didn’t know about. She’s not just white, nor just brown. She’s Violet.
The first chapter of Larry Niven’s Ringworld mentions this. At that point they have had transporter technology for a while, where you step on a pad and instantly you’re somewhere else in the world. Opening up that level of ability to move around meant people mixed as well, and after a few generations everyone tended to be more similar than different. Probably not realistic, as there will still be culture and prejudices that influence pairing for a while, even if everywhere and everyone was just a step away.
With or without the camera degradation? I’ll bet that cost extra.

It’s just Breaking Bad, the other two are just manifestations of it.

I’ve partially closed one before when I was by the window to help block some of the light but still allow me to look out. It was also a half-filled plane and I had the whole row. If someone beside me was sleeping or reading and it was too bright I would have closed it fully.
Just be aware of your surroundings and others. Too many people are so deep into their own stuff they don’t see others around them or what might help them.

That sounds right. Have an outline of what might be necessary for a situation, but don’t over explain it. And while it’s for visual media, I think Roddenberry’s suggestion also works. Don’t take out a technology and explain it, just show it in use (don’t tell). The reader will get it.

I get the negative part, but in a way she’s right. The Industrial Revolution wasn’t perfect nor all great. In one sense both it and agriculture ended up causing so many of our problems. So AI is right there with that.

“Lowest insurance in the state! Only $10 a month!”
In very small print - “Deductible includes total costs for medical and vehicle”
Unpopular opinion, and I expect the reactions I’ll get. But I think the term “slop” has already jumped the shark and is used as a literal downvote reply instead of even saying what they don’t like or disagree with, even with things that aren’t even AI related. Probably because it’s too generic and vague, unlike the previous generation “photoshopped” or “shopped” for short. That at least was understood as having a purpose within the term.
