There’s a reply (to a reply) stating that in the West it’s normal to refer to people under 18 as young men or young women/ladies as at 18 they’re adults.
Is that true? I know I’ve been outside the states for a while but I thought it was still racist propaganda to refer to kids of minority background as young adults, or was I wrong this whole time?
I’m guessing it was just a goof on Carl Tuckerson’s part to refer to Rittenhouse as a kid?
It’s disingenuous. Sometimes a teen will be addressed as (but not usually called) young man / young lady but it is usually either for the purpose of criticism or just navigating their ego since teens can’t accept they’re still children.

Typically yeah, minority kids are more likely to be treated as adult. Mainly when a crime is involved.
