Arc keeps beating me especially those drones that electrocute you

Me and dad share an account so I often play free so I might not have much of a chance but I’ve heard there’s some sort of advanced seeker grenade and those can be good against arc. Any other tips or am I cooked?

Hornets (the electrocuting drones) annoy me (they’re the least fun ARC to fight, for me) so I end up just sneaking around them usually.

If you want to try sneaking, one thing you’ll notice is that they don’t have that good of a peripheral vision, you can walk crouched, even roll without them noticing as long as you stay on their sides, or below them.

Always try to move with some cover available nearby if you need to run and hide, find at least something that can hide you from two angles (front and side so that you can walk around it).

Once an ARC is lurking (yellow to orange light), it will go back and forth on multiple sides to try and find you, its a cat and mouse game where if you manage to say hidden for ~10 seconds it will go away.

If you want to fight them, try the Anvil (ask your dad if you can buy it from a trader), it’s a Green revolver that shoots hard, it’s like the Ferro but with 6 bullets in a magazine (uses heavy bullets too, its a red box), aim for the drone’s rotors, the front ones are protected so you’ll need multiple shots, if you destroy two rotors, the drone should fall to the ground and explode.

You can hear a sound when the drone is about to shoot the taser thing, it goes like zwuuuuit high pitched, once that sound is about to end, rolling should make you dodge the shot because they lock on your position at the last second and won’t have time to adjust. You’ll have to try multiple times to get the timing right!

The Hornets (that electrocute you) are fairly easy to dodge if you put a bit of time to practice the timing but I can understand that it is frustrating to begin with. Then their weak point will be the two rear rotor blade as the front two are armoured so will take longer to take out.

If you can take out the two rears then they will usually crash into the floor and be done. Sometimes you’ll get lucky and taking out just one will cause it to crash too!

There are a few videos on YouTube that will go through good tactics for each type of arc but with some time you’ll get more experience ad it will become easier.

There are seeker grenades that will make the job a lot easier but they aren’t necessary.

Use some of your dads shit to make the game more enjoyable, it is just a game and lost stuff can be got back easy enough, after all you are his kid, he can’t stay mad :p

All arc have pretty easy audio tells to be able to avoid their attacks.

Wasps need to get their targeting laser on you, giving you a chance to roll behind cover or throw a smoke. If they get you in the open out of stamina, you are going to have a bad time.

Hornets have to charge up their taser, you can roll to dodge those at the last second pretty reliably. Fireballs can’t attack unless their weak point is exposed. Pops have a window where you can sprint or roll out of their way (and can also be killed with the pickaxe if they catch you breaching)

The shredder is pretty easy to take down. It can’t shoot and move at the same time, allowing you to duck behind cover.

There are two anti arc grenades, the seeker grenades and the Wolfpack. They are really effective at taking down the big arc

Now I just need advice on how to take down rats that stitcher you in the back while you are distracted by the matriarch.

I think those are like the regular drones. Spamming arc seekers if you have them should work, so should a fast firing weapon with a larger mag.

This is theoretically, I haven’t tested it out

Move carefully and be aware of your surroundings. Only engage Arc when you have enough cover to hide behind. When you are outnumbered then run and hide.

    Hello Raider !

My advice would be a bit different, especially if you are a bit low on gear :

Do raids with the following type of loadouts :

    • ferro 1
    • One stack of Heavy ammo
    • 5 bandages or 2/3 herbal bandage

Why not free loadouts you may ask ?

Because IMO they are the worst loadout you can get. The above loadout is very very cheap but can work on most small arcs and can even help you fend for yourselves against some players. And most importantly you get a safe pocket which you wouldn’t with the free loadout.

It’s a low investment build but with still a safe pocket.

Now to survive the arcs, most advice’s here are very good. Move slowly and try to always think about keeping a cover not too far from you. If you have anything larger than you that you can turn around then you can always protect yourself against their shots (wasps, hornets). Use the ferro to shoot their back rotors. Try to wait for them to get closer or even better use your cover to get out of their line of sight. When a flying arc loses sight of you, he will try to go closer to the last place he spotted you. Wait there out of sight until they come a few meters from you. When they charge their shots, aim calmly for one of the back rotors. If you shoot them within a second before they shoot, they will usually be shaken by the shot and miss you. Still better turn around your cover and get out of sight again right after you shot. The ferro 1 is long to reload so use that time to reposition around your cover of choice and wait for the Arc to come back to you.

If you miss your shots and die, that’s alright, you cale in this raid with not much anyway, it’s no big deal.

This will let you train without losing much stuff anyway. And if you get lucky and find something cool you can get it in your safe pocket and make sure to bring it back.

When you will be more confident with fighting those pesky flying arcs, you can try to upgrade that loadout to an Anvil instead of a ferro and get a looting mk1 augment and a light shield.

If you have done dommage to players recently and want to get back with players that are more friendly. Get on stella Montis but with nothing at all on you. Just run as fast as you can in stella Montis and try to find something nice to put in your safepocket. It’s a good training in avoiding arcs effectively since you have no weapon you will have to use covers and doors to lose your arc pursuit. If players shoot you just flee and hope for the best. After a few raids people should stop shooting you and even help you out. Be very careful with shredders on stella Montis. If you see one and you dont see any doors you can take refuse behind, maybe better go another way. While you do these raids without anything I suggest trying to go to Medical Research or Lobby and loot every container for raiders : Drawers, suitcases, trashbins etc. They can drop blueprints and if you dont have it you can put it in your safe pocket.

Eventually you will get blueprints that would be useful for both of you :)

Flying arcs are no joke but I’m sure you will get better and better and eventually beat them all the time.

    Good luck topside raiders :)
