John Pilger, the renowned Australia-born investigative journalist who was a trenchant critic of the West’s “imperialist” foreign policy, has died at age 84.
I know him best from this lecture.
Propaganda in liberal democracies like America and Britain is much more thorough than in dictatorships and totalitarian states. […] [T]he conformity of information and opinion is insidious. Its sameness implicit, ingrained, and even celebrated.
I just came here to post the same sad news.
I don’t know too much about him as a person but as he gained his fame for outspoken and uncomfortable journalism on the political and economic injustices in the world and critiquing American Brittish and Australian domestic and foreign policy, I can only say it’s a great loss to see him go.
Condolences to his family and friends.
