Motherfuckers will look at me directly into my eyes and say “yeah but it’s still complicated and not right to use violence” after I explicitly explain that one side has institutional, intercontinental, and military support for displacing 5 million people and stealing their homes

I hate to say it, but it really just shows how out of touch we are with the average person. Like it or not, opposing genocide makes you a radical to most of the electorate back-to-me

Is it because admitting that causes people to completely question their worldview? If you oppose genocide, you won’t be able to justify defending the American experiment any longer. So then what?

I could go through n iterations of this logic until I’m blue in the face but it’s no match for firmly entrenched ideology at the end of the day.

Just fighting a losing battle and I think I’m a masochist

I hate that 99% of these people will play games or watch movies where they must oppose the big bad demon lord emperor because he will take over the realm and displace everyone, and they have no problems accepting that premise.

Then you present them with the same exact situation in real life and all they want to do is be holier than thou because they’re “nuanced”
