Look, my ability to detect irony has physically atrophied in the Trump era, so this question is genuine: Are they trying to incite violent revolution against the billionaire class?

Because you just can’t make up shit as bad as the way these fuck operate.

Yes! They are desperate for a civil war. The longer they go without it, the more support they lose, and the more the different factions on the right begin to splinter.

They want a civil war, or rather a cultural war between civilians, to detract from a class war. They want the civilians to be fighting among themselves (i.e. left vs right), rather than uniting against ruthless billionaires and grifters in the government. Having a civil war would also make some of their false claims become “true”, e.g. that cities are “war zones” and that they “need” to utilize the Insurrection Act and put the military everywhere without any remaining legal obstructions. I mean they still do it partially already, which is bad enough, but when a civil war would actually exist (like they claim), then they could also claim that what they were lying about the whole time is actually “true” (just not at all the way they said it to be, but the end result would be kind of the same: war zones inside cities) and they’d be legally allowed to be even more oppressive than they are already. It would increase their power overall. It would lead to a guaranteed dictatorship. Dictators love using “emergencies” to grab full, unrestricted power. So it’s best to never aid them while they try to construct an emergency where there is none. That exposes their lies better.

I don’t think they care. They’ve been insulated so long they think it’ll never happen to them.

sounds like they didn’t do something meaningful enough, then

don’t get me wrong, some people need to do that. but other people also need to do more.

I think if they really want to give all the hoi polloi the finger, they need to speed up the ballroom completion, then throw King Louis XVI themed parties about every week. All while yanking things like ACA and SNAP…

I’m convinced Trump is trying with the way he speaks about random stuff, and way too on the nose. But he knows what he can’t say, or who he can’t speak against without getting another ear shot at. There’s no way he can possibly be this dumb… Can he?

No wonder the Confederate base are so angry all the time - the amount of effort it must take to sustain the cognitive dissonance between watching the pedo-in-chief flip virtually all of America the bird, partying like Gatsby while people are getting ready to starve, and also believing at the same time that he’s for “The Forgotten Man”, must cause a lot of pain.

        …oh you’re right I guess I wouldn’t want to get shot first either 🥺

And yet, risking getting shot may be exactly what winds up happening, or rather, may be what needs to happen even if no one wants to do it. But it also can’t just be one person, can’t make change with just one Luigi. Whole neighborhoods and communities have to organize, and it’s simply not happening on a mass scale.

Then again, even if that happens, the public still needs the military on their side. Because if it gets to the point Trump thinks he can call down missiles on American cities, the military needs to tell him to fuck off. Citizens won’t be able to defend against that or drones.

Organize with your local groups. Political activism, mutual aid, any kind of community support.
