Never actually left. It was a facade for the news cycle like the rest of it, like TikTok.

    1. Create fake problem

    2. Nothing changes

    3. Declare victory over the problem that didn’t exist

    4. Let media fight over it

    5. Do more quietly, actually horrible things in the background while they yell at the nothing

    6. Create a new fake problem

I’m not why you consider exposing members of the government as being extremely racist to be a facade or a fake problem. I think it’s a real problem that people should be pretty fucking aware of. Especially any person who might be a subject of that racism.

Hiding your head in the sand and pretending this didn’t happen doesn’t seem especially helpful to any possible victims of this person.

The fake problem is this kid “resigning” - don’t just assume and go 1000% hard based on your false assumption. Ask a question and clarify if you need, try to assume better intentions of people on Lemmy, unless something is very obvious.

The news is spending breath talking about this kid, him “resigning”, music holding a “poll” that pings his bots to consent, Vance and trump’s cosigning, Vance’s wife being Indian… Etc etc… they did that so the news STOPPED talking about the actual horror that you mentioned, these kids are downloading the whole of OPM employee data, likely including PII and PHI, and grabbing other DBs that will intentionally (or unintentionally through incompetence) leak and likely cost lives.

Flooding the zone and trying to get the zeitgeist to follow the bouncing ball

Considering it took you 10 hours to respond, I don’t know that asking a question and expecting a clarification would have been especially prudent.

I appreciate what you do for the fediverse, but some of us have other responsibilities, some of us take breaks, some of us sleep, etc…

And that’s fine. But then to expect me to ask them a question when I won’t get it timely answer is a little much. Remember that they put this on me.

Didn’t know you had a publication deadline. My points stand.

The false urgency was informed by your misunderstanding and associated upset. So maybe reflect on that. Okay… Cool

I don’t see a point in asking a question in a discussion forum if the answer takes half a day to get to me. This isn’t Quora.
