For my transguy homies, you absolutely should never reduce your T dosage in the week leading up to your blood tests with your doctor. Because if you do, your doctor may prescribe more T than you actually need, and then you may have too much on hand that stays fresh when stored properly. This would probably be illegal because T is a controlled substance, and may become banned under the Trump administration.
The transfems out there definitely shouldn’t do this with their estrogen either. Definitely not.
Is estrogen also a controlled substance like testosterone is? I’ve always wondered
Nope

I don’t think so, but I really only know about bird law.
Yes definitely don’t do that
It would seem a solution to healthcare has been found.
It doesn’t get more American than solving healthcare with gun violence.
And arresting the suspect in a McDonald’s.
Ah man I hadn’t heard that
He was on a Greyhound bus traveling through Altoona on Monday morning, sources said, when he got off and walked into a McDonald’s where a witness recognized him from the images of the suspect circulated by police.
Mangione was sitting and eating when a McDonald’s employee reported him…
I guess the McDonald’s employees didn’t get the memo going around that if you see something, no you didn’t.
Probably a scumbag supervisor or manager. Doubtful it was an actual worker.
God help you if you’re hungry for pizza in Altoona
Fucking groooooooooossssss.
This was the first thing that came to mind when I heard he was caught in Altoona and I felt so futile but I couldn’t help it 💀
I mean, it is historically how we solved all our other problems. Its not even particularly American, as much as I wish we could claim it. Lots of movements have been aided by gun violence.
as much as I wish we could claim it.
You really wish you could claim that shit? 🤨
Look, okay, we need some sort of identity. This is how people become American gun nuts in the first place, is searching for an identity. If modern American identity is going to become “yeah we were getting fucked over by corporate leeches so I shot one of em in the face” - I mean, it’s not my first choice, but I can think of worse things.
Think bigger 🙌
Solidarity against oligarchs like that would be pretty massive. You have no idea the stone wall we would become. Try to move us, we are the mountain.
Huh? I’m not sure what you’re saying, sorry. I’d like to understand though. I’m just too knackered because I’ve been alone with the kids all day and speed cubing all night. 💩🧠💩 What do you mean, with more words please? 😂🙏😭
i’m saving this GIF
Funny how hard CEOs will work to please their customers, IF they fear them.
S’why they call him ‘the adjustor’
$800 out of pocket for a three month supply
My brother in Christ, where the FUCK are you buying your testosterone that it’s $270/mo. without insurance? When I look on GoodRX right now, the average price for a 10ml vial of 200mg/ml testosterone cypionate is about $50. Assuming that you need about 200mg EW, that’s a 2.5 month supply right there. Even if you follow the recommended guidelines and discard the unused contents of the vial at the end of every month and buy a new vial, that’s $150 for a full three months.
GoodRx sells your data to the highest bidder btw (That bidder possibly being a MAGAt hate crime organization.) https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/news/press-releases/2023/02/ftc-enforcement-action-bar-goodrx-sharing-consumers-sensitive-health-info-advertising
Oh, I wouldn’t use them to buy medication. I’m just using them to check the retail prices.
I know that their Costco prices aren’t correct though; if you’re a member and paying out of pocket, Costco will enroll you in a prescription savings plan.
I never knew Costco had a pharmacy lol. Ive never been
They do, and you don’t need to be a member to use their pharmacy. You also don’t need to be a member to see the optician that they usually have there, and in at least some states, if they sell liquor, you don’t need to be a member to buy liquor.
I’d always wondered how that shit worked.
If a non government funded organization gives you something without asking for money they are 100% of the time selling you as the product to someone else. Hell even if you give them money they’ll still make you the product (See the recent ford patent for the always listening car that plays tailored ads.)
Not news to me. The blatently breaking the law is what I’m surprised about, what would get them to believe there were no consequences?
The same thing that would get cellular providers to sell location data to all cell phones unconsentually. Money https://www.zdnet.com/article/us-cell-carriers-selling-access-to-real-time-location-data/
Sigh. What is this life.
Just things for the revolutionary amongst us to consider in their op-sec.
More like BadRx amirite
So does your CC company.
We just want affordable medication. We don’t care about our data.
I’m sorry you have been brainwashed not to care about your data. I will not be sending thoughts and prayers when you are targeted by a group of people who want you dead and bought your data to make it a reality.
As a data privacy advocate, it is a privilege to be able to care about data privacy.
Shitty take.
Oh, you can’t afford to pay 5x for your medication? I guess you deserve whatever hate crime comes your way then. You’re misconstruing what I was saying. The user said two statements. “We want affordable medication” and “We dont care about our data”. I agree with the first one, not the second one. Purposefully not caring about your data is the part I have an issue with. If you have no other choice then you have no other choice. This is not what the User was implying. The user made a statement that they did not care about their data and that is why they would use GoodRx. They never said they couldn’t pay for medication without it. Other countries dont have to sell your data to make medication cheap.
I actually figured that the coverage for gender affirming care is one of the least awful things about UHC. That said I guess I’m not surprised about it initially not being covered.
Edit: actually hold on, my benefits guide definitely used to say something about them paying for travel to a safe state for care and even some hotel nights being covered, but I don’t see that anymore…

Only if they actually cover it. If they send you through a pinball machine of denials and rejections, its just a new way of tormenting trans people.

Red States have been tightening the noose on pregnant women, both explicitly and implicitly. So its likely the UHC folks chickened out and pulled the language for fear of provoking a state AG in Texas, Missouri, or Florida.
Testosterone is also prescribed for actual medical conditions - such as someone losing a testicle from cancer and thus requiring a testosterone boost to maintain regular hormone levels.
Edit: leaving the original text but clarifying: I should have used the words physiological conditions instead of medical conditions. There are physiological reasons why someone would need testosterone, as I mentioned in a reply: testicular cancer resulting in the loss of a testicle, hormonal imbalances resulting in reduced production in testosterone, and more.
Testosterone is also prescribed for
actualother medical conditions - such as someone losing a testicle from cancer and thus requiring a testosterone boost to maintain regular hormone levels.FTFY
Not to detract from your point, but gender dysphoria is a medical condition. The brain undergoes sex differentiation in utero, and the rest of the body usually but doesn’t always match this.
“actual medical conditions” I see you
I mean as far as the body not working correctly - not to downplay elective gender treatments.
Low testosterone in anybody is not a fun time.
I won’t offer my personal opinion as I’m not trans and it isn’t really my place to weigh in but there is an ongoing discussion in the trans community for/against the medicalization of trans identities. Philosophy Tube made a great video that touches on it a while ago
I just read conditions with scare quotes — pretty sure not anti-gender-affirming, if you’re being serious.
Yeah, good point.
If I recall correctly, some companies can also add additional benefits that are paid for by the employer but administered through the insurance company. I don’t know if that might be what happened here.
FYI: Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga is free on Epic this week till Thursday
FYI: Everything is free on [*.torrent, for Linux iso’s totally] until Doomsday.
Its a christmas miracle.
I can get 5ml vials at 250mg/ml for $60. How do I help these people?
The Trevor Project is a good place to start. I don’t know of any nonprofits that directly provide resources like hormones, but I’m sure they exist.
I can get 10ml vials of 250mg/ml for something like £5. The real question is whether we need to be injecting all this testosterone.
you ship overseas? I have customers for you.
