It might just be the picture, but it looks like if anything the tie washes out a little too much relative to the shirt.

I’m not a big fashionista or anything but I would also say that the tie is not a good fit.

It needs to go on something it can contrast with and there it just sort of blends in.

The “general” rule is that your tie should be darker than your shirt. Unless you’re Regis Philbin and you’re hosting Who Wants to Be A Millionaire?, don’t get cute with classic suit rules. No “Eldridge knot” bullshit, no crazy colors, NO HATS.

I have no male fashion hobby or interest, but as a layman lurker from /new, I think it looks great.

Also not a regular here, but my first impression is that the gray is an issue here. I think that the pink and the gray would work well, especially with other cooler tones, or lean in on the warm brown with the pink instead (maybe with a dark brown vest?).

It’s impossible to give advice on color if the lighting was bad for the picture.
To be honest, all the colors look completely off to me.
But I can’t tell if it’s my screen, your screen while you white-balanced the image, the lighting or the actual color of the clothes.

Fair. I only realized the blue looked off when I read the comment. The brown and pink do seem to match how they look irl tho

Imo the tie and shirt do work together, but they’re both quite light and washed-out, so the waistcoat being much darker than both prevents the tie from popping out the way it should. To rephrase : if I squint, I can’t really make out the tie from the shirt compared to the waistcoat.

Changing just one thing, a rich/dark red tie or perhaps a lighter waistcoat might work well here.

    Otherwise I think you’re pretty fly :)

I don’t think so. The patterns are clashy, and neither color really is playing as an accent… But I think the worst part is the white collar against the pink tie TBH. To me this is loud but doesn’t say anything.

Edit: then again, basically no matter what vest, shirt and tie you bring to me I’m going to say no, esp if you’re going to accessorize like a train conductor… But you know, I might not be the target audience.

Pocket watch chain I attach to my smartphone. I feel like smartphones today are like pocket watches of old - mobile devices we use to stay in sync with the rest of the world.

Not sure, but you should be able to find a vintage one for sure.

Fun fact: most jeans have a tiny pocket inside the right side pocket. That is specifically meant for a pocket watch that you can chain to a belt loop.
