A fan favorite around here. This looks to be an old photo that’s been reshared many times over the years, but this seems to possibly be the original.

I like the look on the baby’s face!

      I do too!

As I’ve gotten to understand their lives better doing all this research for you all, I’ve gotten a deep respect for many aspects of their lives.

I see how they put aside their normal lives of solitude to make the sacrifices and face the dangers to keep the babies safe, and how they sit there through wind, rain, and snow, unable to leave for very long, how easy it is to get hurt or to starve, it is very special to see these moments of them all together, safe and whatever feelings of joy these animals are able to have with their short time together.

Yeah, we humans are have lots of chance. We leave long and quiet well, especially in these days and times.

Very true, at least the last hundred years or so. Medicine and safety has come so far for us.

Even as apex animals, half of the raptors won’t get to see age 2, so it must be harder for even more creatures out there.

I imagine life is too short, no matter how much we all get, 1 year or 100. I’m glad I get to spend part of mine sharing all this cool stuff with you all though!
