I couldn’t find a good and recent summary page anywhere, so this is my attempt
to put something together.
They started around a decade ago, and they are currently still very active.
While the website is a bit out of date in some areas, and the twitter / linkedin
doesn’t have frequent updates, their Facebook page
[https://www.facebook.com/coopcycle/] has had multiple posts in the past few
days (related to their annual meetings), and their GitHub repos
[https://github.com/coopcycle/coopcycle-app] have constant activity as well. >
From October 15th to 18th, the international courier community and federation
will gather in Pamplona-Iruña, hosted by our local member Ziclo-P.
You can find info on their copyleft license here:

> The Coopyleft license restricts the commercial use of the software to
cooperatives, associations, or limited-profit organizations. Please refer to
Article 3 of the license for detailed conditions. [source

turning it into a profit-driven business. You can see the map of cooperatives

While their website doesn’t mention a Fediverse presence, they do seem to think
positively of Fediverse related projects. While I’m personally not local (and
swamped with other projects already), I think it could be worth reaching out to
them and getting them on here. Their Facebook posts don’t see much interaction,
and I think they would get along well on the Fediverse. Here is what they
mention about “Are there other similar projects”
> Yes. CoopCycle is part of a broader movement of solidarity-based digital
alternatives.
Projects like Framasoft, Mobilizon, Cascade, and Open Food France share the same
philosophy.

Bonjour :)
J’ai lu des articles à propos de coopcycle.org et je pense qu’ils vont adorer Lemmy/Fediverse:
What would be the best instance for this, maybe jlai.lu? If you happen to know them, feel free to send them an invite. I’m in Canada, and I think it would be better if this was organized by someone local / in France
I’m sorry for the confusion. I’m not actually with coopcycle.org, I’m one of the admins on lemmy.ca . I made this post to ask if it would be ok to invite them and see if someone here would like to take this on. I’m in Canada and French is not my first language, so it didn’t seem like my place to talk to them :) I’m happy to do it, but I figured I should at least speak to your team first since I would be referring them to one of your instances.
I agree with you that Piefed makes more sense for their use case. I was thinking that they could set up a community here instead of their Facebook page, which doesn’t seem to get that much engagement anyway.
Language wise, I am more fluent in English. I’m sorry for the poor French, I didn’t get a lot of practice after learning French in high school.
I’m not that fluent in english either as i have trouble to understand the tone and the sense. 😅

Thank i understand better your point. Imho Piefed/mbin are better for this because they are connected to mastodon. And mastodon has far more user than the threadiverse.
For now i’m busy. but if you contact them and they want to create community they should reach us on meta because we will lock community creation due to the upcoming election.
Hello and welcome to the fediverse.
I would recommend piefed over lemmy because they can reach and connect to mastodon. And there is better moderation tools, tag, hashtag.
There is https://tarte.nuage-libre.fr/ it is a steady rock solid server.
We are building a piefed instance with a better and shorter domain : https://forumlib.re/
The same admin team will manage it but it takes time.
That’s the first part.
The second part is that we don’t know your needs : communication ? Promo ? Social network ? Forum ? Microblog ? Teamwork ? Collaborative app ?
NB : We answered in english because we don’t know which language you are the most fluent with.
