China made trade groups with their regional rivals, so no, we do not see a similar response. China’s response is rooted in win-win diplomacy that improves the material conditions of all parties involved. It is less a moral calculation and more a material one that creates a moral authority.

Yes and that is a winning strategy. As another ml account highlighted, war with the global north did not end well for the USSR, which comparatively speaking was much more a peer in terms of power than the current Russia. China’s strategy is the one that recognizes that the tactics available flow down stream from material conditions.

Isn’t Brazil part of BRICS? Their strategy isn’t just to avoid war, they are building soft power at a time when the USA is burning goodwill for short term gain (though with Iran the only gains seem to be oil profits).

And yet China manages to take the high road with Taiwan, Japan, India, etc.

Seems like it’s hard to find the actual repository and they put it behind a trigger warninf: https://github.com/terrafying/ai-torture-chamber

How dare they steal from thieves

Ahh yes, “liberating” a population by bombing them. A policy shared by both NATO and Russia. Both should look at China’s example for an alternative path.

Look at their comment history regarding Muslims. It provided some confirmation bias for myself if that’s any consolation.

Great move including the guy who disabled Ukrainian drones at the request of Putin. Totally trustworthy and won’t backfire in any way.

Are you trying to say the GOP doesn’t pander to Nazis? Musk literally did the Nazi salute in front of them and they defended him. Meanwhile the dems are tripping over themselves to condemn Hasan Piker

Gotta love the schordinger leftist, simultaneously responsible for the Dems loosing and not significant enough for Dems to pander to.

I think one point of the article is that progressive and leftist candidates have the odds stacked against them by the party itself. We see this repeating now for candidates like Angie Nixon. The silver lining is that leftist candidates are 10x better because they have to be in order to win.

Well, then that should set our expectations on what they mean by “oversight” - placation that will go nowhere

Then why even say impeachment is an option?

Criticizing dems that won’t impeach trump or stop his stupid war isn’t “both sides”. Fetterman is worse than useless

If I am just a stochastic parrot because I think LLMs basically think like humans do, then I am not really a person but a tool. Can I really be faulted for not having free will?

Back in the day heroku did much of this it seemed. But then it got bought by Salesforce of all companies and lost the plot. It was nice, just push to git and your app was deployed, and this was before Docker existed.

Let me make a gant chart and we can circle back every week to monitor progress on this front.
