I stg I thought I was going nuts, seems lots of ppl were desparate for anyone that has a crumb of charisma and reformist positions to the point of glossing over those tattoos and his private merc past. No one was arguing really for his arrest or anything, just whether THIS was the best we could do. And now this… I just am not surprised.

I’d like to think that I judge people for where they are now despite past actions. Until this, I don’t think his arrest was being demanded or anything, but that the blatant contradiction of, not simply having been a killer for hire but as a willing participant in the perpetuation of American hegemony, while posturing as a class conscious cool-dude, was a major red flag. If we are to be class conscious, I don’t see how this can’t be critically addressed. If he meant it, ernestly exposed the complexities and facades people are shown, and tried to right those wrongs, I’d feel more inclined be critically supportive. But that was the big thing missing for me, and smelled fishy from the beginning. Even at best he is a reformist, after all.
