2·1 day agoI knew it wasn’t A. diadematus but wasn’t sure about other Araneus spp. This is actually Metepeira sp., the giant egg sac should have given it away. But I also thought it might be unrelated to the spider at first.
This might be one of my favourite posts, I learned stuff!

That really helped. I have to admit I really went in with tunnel vision 2 days ago and didn’t notice the elephant in the room (even without the location).
That white structure on the left is most certainly a
Cyclosa sp.egg sac,the Trashline Orbweavers. However, the central spider does not seem to be the proud mom, but an unrelated spider. More likely Araneus or Larinioides …, but it’s more of a hunch. And then there is the small spider on the right. I’m quite unsure.Amazing picture.I’ll get back to you. But further pictures will most certainly be appreciated.

This a video about Japanese domestic politics and not about geopolitics. And neither are “viral rants” from random people or floods in Texas.
Indeed, however I have a bunch of personal voting rules that take precedence here. There relevant one here being “Any complaint about downvotes gets downvoted”.
There are instances that have downvotes disabled, if it bothers you I’d recommend moving to one of those.
There’s no benefit to having this system on Lemmy.

If you disagree with someone, you should actually have to leave a comment as to why, instead of just downvoting.
No, because sometimes that just means feeding a troll. Some people are beyond arguing with. Downvotes are a great way to warn other users that there is bad comment that’s not worth engaging with.
If you see -13 on a thoughtful post you worked hard on, it makes you feel bad.
Well, yeah … maybe you should! Just because you were thoughtful doesn’t mean it was good or correct, so maybe you should try to figure out why at least 14 people felt the need to downvote it. It’s valuable feedback!

They usually don’t tend to be the type to think very far ahead and are probably content with just … having less immigrants as the result. Not sure, I don’t think I’m racist enough to understand how these people think.
