If you want to do any dev-related things, like installing Wireshark or programming an ESP32, anything that needs to access outside of the sandbox/container, you will need to learn how to navigate through sandbox/container hell, exposing ports from each other, and installing things directly to rpm-ostree, etc. It gets ugly really fast.
