I’m a leftist. They ban anyone to the left of Mitt Romney.

Almost subbed then I saw Quokk.au
no thanks. In fact, I’ll go ahead and create an identical community that isn’t on a pre-emptive ban-happy, Military industrial complex propaganda-laden, fascist instance.

Sorry about that. I was in a rush. :)

Edit: sorry I didn’t link. It has been an incredible overnight upgrade to security for me. I have all of my stateful directories LUKS encrypted and copying on write to a btrfs subvolume that gets cloned over at boot to each time and as a result, I have a minuscule attack surface. On top of that, all of the machines on my network are fully impermanent and write their state to a local NAS. It’s pretty elegant. I highly recommend rehearsing the switch to impermanent via a QEMU VM and not fully making the switch until your data is backed up.
I did a rehearsal on my home directory that took a few iterations to catch all of the files I needed to declare. A diff on the two btrfs directories each reboot made that fairly easy. I wish I could share the config but it would dox the shit out of me!

Talk about doing the bare minimum! That’ll show em! I literally haven’t used corporate social media since 2016. Ask big tech about how much I’m hurting their bottom line.

I call bullshit. Even a grain of sand would be disastrous for that phone. You must be in management.

My best friend has has had the Samsung version of this for four different generations now. I’ve always been a hater about it but now in gen 4, there are very few issues with Samsung’s folding phones… but they still suck and are fragile as hell.
My conclusion: all folding screen phones like this are shite and Apple gets a first generation mulligan on this one. This release is as bad as any in their history and they should have seen it coming a mile away given Samsung’s myriad issues.
My rule: NEVER BUY AN OVERPRICED, GIMMICKY, FIRST-GENERATION APPLE PRODUCT.

To add to this, allium is a weirdly effective tool for finding bugs and clarifying intent despite being nothing more than a prompt that you present to a frontier model.
I’ve started using allium spec files as a replacement for handoff documents. It records what you want your program to do without any of the implementation details that might pollute an LLM’s context window.

I’ll cast a vote for a single daily thread with game threads as comments instead of the twelve posts it currently makes a day.
No problem. It’s a surprisingly good tool despite relying completely on hallucination machines.
I used a frontier model to generate an allium spec from your repo and it found a few bugs. I like to run apps through allium to prepare for formal verification because it tends to find a LOT of flaws in even the most robust apps. The allium spec file is too large to share here but it can be generated by any frontier model.
Defects, three of them confirmed by running probes against the crate:
-- VIOLATED: only one decrypt's skip is capped (max_skip); nothing caps
-- the total unless the application calls cleanup, so a peer that keeps
-- skipping grows the state without limit.
invariant SkippedKeysAreBounded {
for s in Sessions:
s.skipped.count <= config.max_skipped_total
}
invariant OneTimePreKeysBelongToOneSession {
for a in Handshakes:
for b in Handshakes:
a != b and a.one_time_prekey != null
implies a.one_time_prekey != b.one_time_prekey
}
invariant ResponderCannotSendBeforeReceiving {
for s in Sessions:
s.role = responder and s.receiving_ratchet_public = null
implies s.sending_chain_key = null
}
open question "Should x3dh_initiate_internal take the signing key and signature and verify the signed prekey itself, so a caller cannot skip it?"
open question "Should the identity key sign with XEdDSA, so there is one long-term key instead of an unbound X25519 and Ed25519 pair?"
open question "Should decrypt work on a copy of the state and commit only after the tag verifies?"
open question "Should the associated data be IK_A || IK_B and be passed into every seal and open?"

AGPL 3.0 is best to fight enshittification.
Yes. You’re a piece of shit.
Go fuck yourself.
