I used to work with this lady and at first we got along great. Then one day for reasons I cant fathom or remember the subject of the afterlife got brought up during a break period. She was talking to a couple of my coworkers about it. I didn’t say anything because I had nothing to add the the conversation. Then she asked me directly so I told her I didn’t believe in the afterlife.

She was stunned. She was all like “Where do you think you will go when you die?” I said I didn’t think I would go anywhere, I would just cease to exist. She was like “You HAVE to believe you will go somewhere!” I asked “Why?” She had no answer for that but she stopped speaking to me entirely. Even when it was about something related to work.

Shortly after my boss assigned her to work with me. She would hardly acknowledge me when I spoke to her, and communication was kind of important to the job. I finally asked her what her problem was. In the most snarky tone she could muster she asked me what my problem was. I said my problem was that she was acting like a bitch.

Of course she ran and told the boss, and I had to go with a meeting with him and his two bosses. None of them respected the difference between me calling her a bitch, and saying that she was acting like a bitch. I got wrote up for it.

The point (very clearly) is that even people as uneducated, uninformed, and oblivious as MAGAts can tell that there is something very wrong about how America was being ran, and even they wanted something to change. The fact that Trump lied about draining the swamp and the fact that his intentions was to bring in a sewer to replace it is irrelevant. The fact that they were naive to believe him is irrelevant.

The point is that most of us want actual change, not centrist corporate stooges like Biden and Harris. Whether the people put their faith in the wrong ones to change things in the past is beside the point.

And no, the fact that people showed up in record numbers to vote for Biden in 2020 does not prove this trend is incorrect. At that point Biden was a significant change from Trump in the eyes of many people. He deceived people that he was going to be significantly different in the same way Trump did.

Out of interest what games are you running that don’t need GPU performance? Basically any modern 3D game needs a GPU to run well.

I think you misunderstood me. I said “Every game I have attempted to run has just worked and they seem to run just as good as they did in Windows, so I guess I’m lucky I don’t need to really worry about dual booting or VM’s”

The games I play do need GPU performance. Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, No Mans Sky, The Outer Worlds etc. I’m not running them in a VM, I’m running them through Steam or Heroic Games Launcher.

I don’t understand why you think that would be less complicated than a high tech solution like virtualization.

Because once you have everything set up properly, all you would need to do to play a game that you couldn’t play in Linux is fire up the VM and play it. In a dual boot situation you would have to reboot your computer into a whole different OS and then play the game. It wouldn’t be a massive difference, but it would be more convenient. Plus it would be contained so there would be no way for it to mess with your bootloader or whatever. Clearly it’s more complicated that I had originally thought.

KVM is special because it’s a hypervisor running in the same CPU ring and privilege level as the full Linux kernel. It’s like if a Type-1 hypervisor ran at the same time as a normal OS in the same space. This means it behaves somewhat like a Type-1 and somewhat like a Type-2. It’s bare metal just like a Type-1 would be, but has to share resources with Linux processes and other parts of the Linux kernel.

Ok, now you got me curious. What is the distinction between that and how I originally described it?
