One of my biggest hang-ups in life, and I’m old enough that wisdom and experience should carry me through it. Hasn’t happened yet.

Lots of platitudes address it, but platitudes are only true when viewed from the other side of things, not within the thick of it.

  • I never have enough time for games, but I loved this one so much that I made time.

The visuals were amazing. The story was decent, and the gameplay kept me engaged.

I especially liked the second island. Hallucinating on a tropical island while battling inner demons was a perfect intermission between acts.

I have yet to fork out $80 for Yotei though (I want it, but that’s pretty steep for me). It seems most reviews say it’s got a lot going for it, but it’s just not Tsushima.

  • I get you, but “middle class” in America harkens to a time when a salaried position provided its own safety net (affordable university degrees, affordable housing and healthcare, and an income that not only covers it all, but also enough to pay for retirement with added wealth to leave the next generation)

I may be wrong, but “working class” in America implies a non-salaried job without many benefits.

  • The middle class is disappearing and most Americans are a paycheck away from being the ones they pity.

Extended protests are easier in countries that have a safety net.

Americans risk police violence, criminal records, and potential perpetual poverty.

Despite that, Minnesotans have protested ICE occupation for months in nearly record-breaking deathly cold, just to send a message. How much that accomplished is up to opinion.

(Whataboutism, I know, but,) As the rest of the world falls in line with far-right social and economic policies with little opposition, it is a hypocritical vantage point to criticize Americans who are themselves victims of neo-fascism.
