And thus should require backup batteries isolated from the main power bus of the vehicle, which would be so cost prohibitive the entire idea is made redundant.

I consider the electronic door handles to be a violation of functional safety ISO 26262. I would think that in a fire situation the doors electronics are pretty unlikely to work. The manual release is not a good control because a reasonable person isn’t necessarily going to know it exists. I work in the automotive industry and most organisations I have worked with are big old manufacturers and they think extremely long and hard about this kind of thing. Sadly I doubt Tesla cares so much about ISO standards.
Very true, here in Australia we get the day off to go vote, which is the least you’d expect considering voting is mandatory. I’m privileged to live in a country where it is so effortless to vote and I can trust the system to work. Not getting a public holiday or making early voting early easy is a huge barrier to entry.
Because there aren’t really any consequences for the democrats… The ones in safe seats keep their jobs which are basically useless for a few years, what a cushy job. There is no moderating force in a two party system, there’s no external threat. One party can drive the public to outrage, and then lose the election and everyone chills out only for it to be replaced by an equally dysfunctional and regressive government. Voting Dems is only delaying the inevitable collapse, voting R just accelerates it. America needs to realise that a centuries old political system just isn’t cutting it any more. Two party systems are meant to force the sides to converge on the median, so you get two very moderate parties, but now one is moving further and further right and the other seems to being dragged along with it. At least ranked choice voting might be a start.
What confuses me with this take, is that you guys get two options over there, so how was Trump a better choice? In a battle of lesser evils you still pick the lesser evil. Such an unbelievably flawed democratic system the US has.
In the musical wicked which I suppose is canon and happens at the same time, Glenda reveals to Madame Morrible that the wicked witch of the west will probably show herself if her sister (the wicked witch of the east) is in danger. So Morrible summons the tornado to threaten the sister which coincidentally brings along Dorothy. Glenda secretly was good friends with Elphaba (WWotW) so wouldn’t have intentionally gotten her sister killed. There was a lot of politics and propaganda and stuff, but Glenda wasn’t really a villain, just a vain person who found it easier to support an autocracy. Someone who has read the books could probably explains it all, sorry if I’ve ruined your headcanon!
Surely the maintenance of such problems would be very easy though, given it’s already on rails you could run a carriage with washing machinery underneath to clean these occasionally. Interested to see how serious the deterioration over time is due to the grime.
Probably the most exciting part of the trailer is that it all but confirms multiplayer which was probably the biggest missing element of the first game.
This isn’t surprising news. He’s always been an asshole but it seems pretty widely agreed that he lost his filter somewhere around COVID so the reporting of 2022 isn’t a shock at all. In fact I’m shocked to find out it’s only since 2022?!
If you have the room for it and don’t already, you should see if you can get a shock mount for the mic if you can’t put it on a boom. It would make a big difference for those vibrations!
I use a keychron at work and it’s very good for the price. Not a heap to choose from in the 100% range but all very reasonably priced. If you’re after serious quietness you probably want linear switches but these are often pretty polarising to people. There’s no tactile click at all when you’ve activated the key. You might be surprised what you can get away with on VC though, I use a condenser mic and a keyboard with blue keys and generally have no problems with people hearing it. Good mic positioning on a boom helps a lot, and some new noise cancelling technologies are pretty excellent at blocking clicks. With a headset mic it would be really unlikely to be heard.
Who in the greens to I email to explain how utterly outrageous and stupid this demand is?

Every other EV I know has instant boot up, Volvo/polestar, Hyundai, rivian etc. I was under the impression this was pretty Universal for EVs. A huge amount of current model year cars in a similar price range also have remote keyless control functionality, even ICE cars.
Often huge barriers to employment are owning a phone with a consistent number, and appearance/hygiene. For someone with nothing these two things can massively help.
I can appreciate that some states are better than others, in a similar manner to being able to appreciate that some EU countries are better than others. I’ve visited the USA and so I’ve seen first hand the good and the bad.
It doesn’t change the fact that globally, you are represented by your federal government and not your local state ones. As an Australian I might expect a foreigner to know our Prime Minister but never a state premier.
From overseas we just see a lot of the insane shit. Politically, the whole world is interested your federal elections because that is what has a chance to affect us. I don’t care who the governor of a state is really because they aren’t going to be able to declare some insane war or fuck over or save entire countries.
Even when we see state x legalizes y or outlaws z it just blurs together from out here. Much easier to see your own state doing good things when you’re inside it.
And yeah, USA doesn’t get enough credit for craft beer!
I have to disagree with the G502. I have the Lightspeed and had a serious double clicking issue within a year. I use an MX master at work and bought another for home and am very happy with that.
Some locations in Australia already had controls in place, such as requiring integrated water delivery systems and on tool dust extraction. PPE was a legal requirement on top of that. With all that it must have been decided it was still too dangerous, so I support the decision.
It exists but anything that passively draws power would not normally be preferred for automotive. However with EVs it might not be such a big deal due to the enormous battery.
