  • if you magically were never involved in this thread, it was a stranger who had written what you have

I would agree with them. We’d hold the same belief.

You want to believe I’d disagree because you disagree.

That’s the difference between us. I don’t need someone to agree with me to be allied in a shared cause, I just won’t tolerate cutting down others because their efforts, whatever they may be, are deemed not enough. It’s akin to purity testing and it does no one any good.

  • It has been you, from the jump, shitting on others

    Nope, just OP.

the rhetoric from the comic that I read

I question your reading comprehension and understanding of context. The comic, as well as OPs comments don’t fit your narrative at all.

You have layers of wrong going on here and I think you’re just too defensive at the moment to see what’s going on.

You disagree and attack me as being “defensive” for (checks notes) defending my position.

As for my original question, the OP sarcastically hints at the need for action beyond what’s been taken. I call out armchair critics who like to criticize others for not doing what they themselves won’t do.

It’s awful easy to risk someone else’s freedom and safety.

  • This is the ally you seem to want

You’re wrong. I have no use for those who insult and degrade those who’ve taken any action of any sort.

The rhetoric from OP in this comic is to deride the character who made an effort as “not being enough”.

The ally I want is one who draws this comic but with the last panel having community stepping up to bolster that individual and encourage them to continue resisting with their support. A comic that shows how the everyday people are stronger together when they support each other.

I’ll take allies that are willing to try what they’re capable of over those who lift themselves up by shitting on others for “not doing enough”.

  • Sure, I love making them, I’ll make a lot more!

I’m sure you will. I imagine they feed your superiority complex without actually engaging in any meaningful action.

Pot calling the kettle hominem buddy, see you in the next one :)

Using and ad hominem after being called out for an ad hominem? Bold move. However, you won’t see me at all. That’s one of my favorite things about blocking people!

    Enjoy your circle jerk!

Six years and this is where the worlds at. Seems you’re just as ineffective as everyone else. Good thing you post edgy comments though, that’ll turn the tide.

I’m probably not the person you should be asking that question to.

You’re exactly who I should be asking that question to; smugly superior writing cute little comics to attack and divide people.

If narcissistic triangulation was a meal you shoved it down your gullet in one go and asked for more.

  • I’m aware. As I said in the linked comment, I’m more concerned about the data being collected than I am about being recorded.

In the long term people need to control the collection and use of the data and establish some significant penalties for misuse. It would be nice if, in the US, we could establish that any data gathered by ALPRs is covered under the 4th amendment and require a warrant for starters.

I also think the data should be required to be stored by the government agency utilizing it, no third parties.

  • I’m not misunderstanding you. I think your struggling to follow your own conversation.

You brought up FACE, an organization concerned with Title IX enforcement specifically.

The other user explained they are given due process (under Title IX) and explained (poorly) that private colleges are not bound by the same rules if they don’t take government funding, expressed as government run.

Then you shifted it to some conversation about basic human rights and questioned what not being government run has to do with.

Which is why I shared the federal government page outlining Title IX exemptions.

Due process is covered under the 5th and 14th amendments, not Title IX.

    Remember this:

Where you cited a Wikipedia article about an organization concerned with Title IX to justify your claim they’re not given “due process”.

It’s either bad faith or stupidity. Either way, I’m done engaging with it.
