  • That entire page you linked is all one single incident of a guy at a kayak factory, and by what you pictured the kayak factory was found guilty of something, which means they weren’t doing something correctly or to code.

As to freezers, at least in the US they can all be opened from the inside, latched closed or not. It’s actually against building regulations and fire code to have it any other way.

*edit: additional fun fact- the reason your house fridge closes with just a magnet strip instead of a latch mechanism happened like 70 years ago because sometimes kids would climb in them to play or hide (often old ones outside or at junk yards) and die. It was known as “The Refrigerator Safety Act”.

  • At the same time, “similar works” are protected and allowed as legal. For instance the 5000 spaghetti westerns that exist, or the entire formula for 80’s slasher films. Or Ants and A Bugs Life, or Olympus Has Fallen and White House Down, or Deep Impact and Armageddon.

So there has to be some sort of line somewhere that’s a cut-off, but it might be hard to find. Musk wanted to use blade runner and was told to fuck off, so he made up his own dystopian Sci fi future scene. He most certainly aimed for the blade runner look, but was it illegal?

  • There was a fan in my last fire departments bay (where the trucks are kept) named (for real) “Big Ass Fan”. It was literally 20 feet across with metal blades and the adjustment was a percentage from 1 to 100%. 100% was a whirling death wind of speed and sound. If a blade where to ever fly off it would put a hole through a wall or slice a man in two.

  • So double tap your home button and shrink it down to one handed size.

Today’s issue is that all the high end stuff takes up space and needs surface area to keep cool. Shrinking it all down for a market there isn’t a large demand for is hard, and then having to put a smaller battery in it is also hard. I take phones apart quite often. Even the big ones don’t have much unused space.
