    Yes WW1 happened because of a single incident setting off a firestorm and not due to ideologies of imperialism, militarism, monarchism, jingoistic nationalism, and the desire of the Anglo-French alliance to prevent any competitors to their global domination being confronted by Germany which felt entitled as a white nation to its share of genocidal extraction.

      Correct, WW1 would have happened regardless, Franz Ferdinand getting shot or not, the economies of western Europe were just too primed for war at that point
