      Were you there during the Transfermium wars?

      Continues googling, oh right, park and rides. They’re not that uncommon in the US, at least in the larger cities. Definitely the right response to folks saying they need to be able to drive anywhere and everywhere they want.

        Newer Park and Rides are usually called just that. The ‘transferium’ terminology was more common in the naughties.

    I loved the casual rant about entitled motorists when it came to the new gates, which slow emergency vehicles down.

    These gates only exist because some motorists otherwise would not respect the rules. Thus, the emergency vehicles are actually slowed down by entitled motorists.

    I like NJB for changing my perspective here and there in these ways.

    Every day, this road brings in 27000 cars right through the center of the city.
    So, they did what any reasonable municipality would do. … They blocked it off to car traffic.

    I just love the bold move. ❤️ Hope the experiment is successful and that they can make it permanent at some point.
