Happy April Fool’s Day. In reality I love all Starfleet ships equally. Except for the USS Equinox. That’s a garbage ship for garbage people.

That’s not engineering down there, it’s the science lab/a big fuck off sensor pod. Engineering is like the room behind the main bridge on the Oberth.

What would you do in the bridge anyways?

Warp core unstable: open the door and talk to the engineer there.

Extra warp speed: open the door and tell the engineer to spice things up

Warp breach; open the door and tell everyone to eject the thing

Warp core down: open the door and tell them to get it running now, or get out and push.

See? No need to tap badges or anything. And all of it is communications blackout proof, crazy computer personality proof, engineers console re route and locked out proof, etc etc. It would allow ensign crusher to run the whole eng division, since 90% of TNG just can’t happen anymore.

          You’re welcome.

I much prefer the original Constitution class. I also really love the Miranda Class.

Edit: Also, you are correct on the Nova class.

I can’t say I’m in love with the NX-01 either.

I do love many of the post-TOS ships with their streamlined graceful curves, starting with when I first saw the 1701 refit on the big screen, but I grew up with TOS ships including the Star Fleet Battles and original technical manual, so I really love the old style scouts and tugs. I was overjoyed to get a brief glimpse at the Kelvin on screen.

Starbase 80 is not as bad as everyone says. They got the cable working again. Sorry, it’s still down, my mistake.

Yeah, honestly the Defiant Class is fucking sexy as hell. I also have a strong love of the NX-01’s austere, utilitarian form.

I mean it’s a badass ship, but Enterprise D went through all kinds of absurd shit and always came out on the other side.

Except when they needed shock value for a movie…

Peak design for sure. That and the Miranda have something special going for them.

I also do like me some Ambassador class though.

NX-01 is great, but I’m Team Crossfield (pre-refit).

    Oh, and Sovereign.

You’re right, there’s so many good ones!

It’s poking fun at tier lists for game characters. A tier list is just a list of things given a letter grade where F is the worst grade and S is the top grade above A.

        Thanks for the information but…

S is the top grade above A

        why is S above A?

S stands for superb or superior. It comes from Japanese and UK class grading systems.

            and UK class grading systems

            Uh… I’m British. There’s no S here.

            Thanks though.

So the source i read maybe was wrong about the origin. It still means superb or super and is above A rankings.

I always thought it originated from comic books where nerds would rank powers of various heroes and the S tier was named for Superman because he was in a tier of his own.

Nah, it comes from Japanese grading systems and was then introduced to the West via video games.
