I had a master plan of diminishing The PileTM of things to finish or repair, and it’s going farly well. Some of it was really quick and easy, some of it was surprisingly fun to do, some of it was a bit boring.
I have a plan of making a … kind of cardigan/vest/jacket thingy by next week end, and I had to pack all of my sewing away until tomorrow. I am not positive that it will work but it would be cool to wear the new thing on the week end getaway.
I have taken pictures of the fancy black trousers, but I forgot the back and I still need to find the energy to write a coherent text.\ Do not despair, it will happen ! Someday.

What are you working on ? Are you having any difficulties, surprises, wins ?

I managed to get rid of four big bin bags full of old clothes that were taking up most of my craft room floor, and now actually have space to do crafts in again. Does that count? 😄

It sure does ! Now you can clutter the space with something new, and in the meantime, be really motivated to do new things ! At least that’s how I would do it.

I’ve been working on creating some garments in linen for an upcoming vacation because it’s to somewhere hot and my husband (who seems to have very strong Nordic genes) overheats really easily. He lives in t-shirts, but I made him a shirt last summer and he agrees that it’s airier in the heat and humidity. I found a top pattern for myself that fits really nicely without modification, and I can now cut and sew one in a few hours, so I’ve made three so far, and three button-ups for him, plus some pants for me. Yesterday I traced a couple of patterns for the kids too, so today the goal is to get some fabric cut out for them. Crossing my fingers that I have enough remnants of linen from previous projects to get all of the pieces for my son’s shirt fit in there!

Some nice matching clothes for the family, that sounds really fun ! I agree on linen for warm weather, I have (too) few things as well and they are my favourite in the summer.

I have a near finished coat that I stopped working on in November that I really want to finish, but I’m having a hard time starting. I’ve been saying that I’ll do it on the weekend for months now. It’s at a tricky point of fixing a mess up and I’m nervous about making it worse.

I am also weary of picking old projects back up. But most of the time, the fix isn’t as bad as I thought, so go for it !
Also a coat ! to me, that’s an ambitious project !

It’s ambitious for me too, believe me! I made a big deal of it, bought some nice wool for it. I need to finish it to have something, I can’t bear to waste such good fabric. But I think I backed myself into a corner here, I put too much pressure on it and now I’m afraid to mess up.
