A chinese state media website is hardly trustworthy. Those are also the sources of nonsense like “we eradicated absolute poverty”, which is absolute nonsense (it improved, but definitely not eradicated). They’ll report sugarcoated and greenwashed things if it fits the regimes’ current line of propaganda.
Looks like it’s not all propaganda, but still they need to pick up the pace, at least according to this journal article: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0160412025000698
At least SOME PEOPLE are getting some good news…
I’d love some of that. The air and the news.
OP is apparently spreading pro-China and pro-Russian propaganda from disinformation channels, just read their post history.
As the Center for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) says about China’s air quality in 2026,
- The number of provincial capitals failing to meet the standard {set by the Chinese Communist Party itself] rose sharply from six at the end of February to 18 by the end of March, and remained high at 16 through May to August. Non-compliant cities were persistently concentrated in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and northeastern provinces.
- PM2.5 levels rose year-on-year in 18 provincial capitals in August, compared with only two in May when weather conditions were more favourable. Further air-quality improvements will depend increasingly on structural changes in energy, industry, and transport; otherwise, pollution can rebound quickly when weather turns less favourable …
- Sixteen provincial capitals failed to meet the new annual PM2.5 standards
- PM2.5 levels rose year-on-year in eighteen provincial capitals in August
- Five provincial capitals exceeded the annual ozone limit
- Ozone levels rose year-on-year in fifteen provincial capitals in August
- Multi-pollutant pressure still concentrated in northern capitals
This is pure propaganda.
