A few photos from the 2018 exhibition at the Art Gallery of Ontario, including an interactive portion where visitors put dots on objects.

Oh, well played!
Still sad, but well played.
I think her work was a lot more then her famed polkadots, I feel like the title doesn’t do her justice.
I saw an overview her work in Bilbao and what struck me the most were a couple of school classes, kids aged maybe 7 or 8 who really loved her work and were all sitting down in the gallery space absorbing it 🤗😊
It was really magical stuff. I don’t normally bother with things that have timed entrances and long lines but it was so worth it to get to go inside a few Infinity Mirror Rooms. The AGO acquired one of them after the exhibition, so there is a lot more opportunities for people in the area to experience it.
Yay for kids in galleries! I’ll take a few rambunctious kids over some know-it-all offering unsolicited interpretation to strangers any day.
What’s the censored thing supposed to be? A big dotted dildo?
Yes.
(It’s people, I blurred them out but not the others because it’s a front on face shot and because it was distracting from the rest of the work).
“…repeated phallic shaped forms…” That’s probably a yes…

Meh, another old racist died. Anyway.
Kusama’s apology, which came the day before her show, “Yayoi Kusama: Infinite Love,” opened at the museum, referred to passages from her 2002 autobiography, “Infinity Net,” in which she described Black people as “primitive, hyper-sexualized beings.”
Broooo no way
What an awful week
Why are the deaths always clustered? Horrible.
Dammit.
I heard the hype. I read about her. I got tickets to see her exhibit at the AGO. I sat down in an infinity room and it was pretty impactful. I want to build one in my house.
This sucks, caught her work in LA and DC and her walk in exhibits are phenomenal.
