No we need to make more trains. You only invent them once.

But the tech bros like to talk about self-driving cars, that drive on special self-driving car roads, that are only for self-driving cars. Yeah that’s a train.

Let’s build self driving cars that go on special self driving roads that handle all the steering. To minimize fuel losses from friction while being long lasting, the wheels should be made of some kind of metal, and have a specialized shape to stay centered on the self driving road.

Heck, we could market this to trucking companies, with the low rolling resistance, they could hook a bunch of trailers together! Make some sort of a linked-cargo-hauler, that goes to special depots specifically for these extra long contraptions.

I’m so glad I alone thought of this breakthrough in transportation!

I’m the consumer. Therefore I am always right. And I require more trains to be invented. Do you not want my money, or what?

Those aren’t trains. I don’t give a shit if they want to use the word “invented” if it means we actually get trains.

Sure techbros. Be revolutionary. Invent the subway.

Unfortunately, Elon isn’t the only one. There’s been like a half dozen different times now that people have claimed to solve the self driving car issue by…putting cars on train tracks.

So trains, but worse in every way. Single occupancy, traffic congestion, motors on every pod, traditional rubber car tires, magnetic strips planted into a normal highway for computers to follow, etc. Every time, they’ve found a way to make trains but worse.

I feel like we can improve on that. Maybe these tech bros can innovate on these issues.
