I haven’t run across that word since I read Lewis Carroll’s poetry
He was thoughtful and grave—but the orders he gave
Were enough to bewilder a crew.
When he cried “Steer to starboard, but keep her head larboard!”
What on earth was the helmsman to do?
I don’t know. Isn’t the average speed of a bullet (340 m/s) under the sound barrier (343 m/s)? If that’s the case, wouldn’t it only matter how far the gun is away from you?
There are a LOT of different kinds of ammunition out there. I suppose if they get to choose what kind, they could opt for subsonic ammo (the kind that people usually use with suppressors). Otherwise, if it’s randomly selected or something, then there’s a pretty good chance that it’ll break the sound barrier.
I was looking for this answer before I wrote the same thing. If a part of my body has to be shot, why wouldn’t I be trying to rules lawyer my way out of serious injury? Take one long hair, tape it on something that can be safely shot through at effectively point blank range, feel nothing, success!
Hair. The hair on my head, near the ends, just to be exact. And from the side so the bullet does not then hit me.
Haha lol just aim a few inches larboard for me

I’m by the ocean. I’m thinking nautical
I think there’s a good reason they started saying port instead
Because it tastes good?
And you know if you have to open the cupboard on the right or left to get it while yelling in a storm
Well lah dih dah look at Mr two cupboards
Hair on your feet is better because then you’ll get less hearing damage.
What collection are these animations from? I have seen this around, but have never seen a name set to them.
From a TV show called Archer. I’d recommend giving it a watch
Archer

The further the muzzle is from my ears, the lower the noise level I’ll experience. The projectile speed doesn’t matter.
I hope you didn’t experience that hard noise level too much yourself
