The communism killed millions of people seems to stand out. Is it implying that the millions dies because of war, not communism itself? Or that stuff like holodomor and the great leap forward didn’t happen?
When millions starved in communist countries it’s blamed on communism.
But when millions of people starve to death in capitalist countries those aren’t attributed to capitalism for some reason.
This seems unbalanced.
The 100 million figure comes from The Black Book of Communism, which is a commonly parroted red scare propaganda piece. It counts dead WW2 nazis and soviets who died fighting nazis as victims of communism, for starters. Its main point is to “prove” that communism is somehow an order of magnitude worse than fascism, by cherry picking whatever suits their tally. It’s a famous book in my country, and is still being quoted by “centrist” politicians to explain why they support the far right over the left.
